The Rolex GMT was originally designed in collaboration with Pan American Airways and issued to their crews on long-haul flights. The dual time zone can track local and home time, which is a useful tool for pilots and those who are traveling a lot across different time zones.

This Rolex GMT-Master II was initially sold in May 1997.

The watch is made of stainless steel and is fitted with the Black bezel and an Oyster bracelet. This GMT-Master II 'Black' is sitting somewhere at the crossroads of vintage and modern in the Rolex GMT-Master II. This particular T-serial example dates to a production period of 1997 and features a 'Tritinova' Dial, Hands and Bezel.

These dials were produced for less than a year and are the result of Rolex applying Luminova to leftover dials marked with "SWISS - T < 25", which were originally produced to feature for the earlier Tritium luminescent material. Hence, they are scarce to come by and sought-after by true collectors.
